🏰History of Hotel Benger
The Hotel Benger boasts a history of more than 250 years. Originally mentioned in the 17th century as a country inn with its own brewery, the building has grown into a beloved meeting place over the centuries.
In 1896, Heinrich Benger acquired the inn and brewery, continuing the tradition of brewing his own beer. In 1928, Carl Benger and his wife Maria expanded the property into a hotel. After World War II, the hotel reopened in 1945, and the former brewery was transformed into a public kitchen serving thousands of people daily.
With a hotel extension in 1953 and the leadership of Carl-Josef Benger and his wife Ulla from 1969 onwards, the house continued to flourish. Since October 2006, Alain Michelis and his team have carried on the family spirit. Today, Hotel Benger is open 365 days a year, combining history with modern hospitality.
